Advisory
This work principally involves the drafting of agreements, schemes, policies and procedures and advice on the employment law implications of their contents.
Examples include:
- Directors’ service agreements and contracts of employment
- Bonus and commission schemes
- Employee handbooks, disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Restrictive covenants
- Transfers of employees on business sales or purchases or changes of contractor
- Collective consultation
- Consultancy agreements
Dispute Avoidance or Resolution
This work concerns actual or potential disputes between employers and employees and the means of avoiding or resolving them. This includes the drafting of letters for employers or employees, agreements for settlement of claims, and representation in Employment Tribunal, Court or mediation proceedings where required.
Examples include:
- Termination of employment and unfair dismissal claims
- Compromise agreements
- Redundancies, both individual and collective
- Restructuring or reorganisation of businesses and the employment implications
- Handling cases of misconduct, unsatisfactory performance or sickness absence
- Handling grievances
- Contractual disputes over pay, bonuses, commission
- Maternity and paternity rights
- Part time or flexible working
- Industrial action
- Equal pay and discrimination on grounds of:
- Race
- Sex
- Disability
- Age
- Sexual orientation
- Religion or belief
We offer a telephone helpline service to employers. This includes assistance with the drafting of letters and other documents.
